Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 8, 2026
Talk2Us ("Talk2Us," "we," "us," or "our") helps small businesses collect honest, anonymous feedback from their customers. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have. It covers our website www.talk2us.shop and our service.
The short version
- Feedback is anonymous. We don't ask for or store anything that identifies the person leaving it.
- No tracking cookies, no device IDs, no ad networks. We don't follow people around the web.
- For business accounts, we store only what's needed to run your account.
- Card payments are handled by Stripe, we never see or store your full card number.
- We never sell your information.
1. Who this applies to
Two different groups use Talk2Us, and we treat their information differently:
- Businesses, owners and staff who create an account to collect feedback.
- Customers & visitors, the people who scan a QR code or open a feedback link to leave feedback. They don't create an account, and their feedback is anonymous.
2. Information we collect
From businesses (account holders)
- Your name and email address.
- Your password, always stored encrypted (hashed), never in plain text. We cannot see it.
- Your business details: business name, locations, logo, brand colour, and similar settings you enter.
- Billing information needed to start a subscription. Your card details are collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor, not by us. We only keep limited records such as your plan, status, and the last four digits/brand of your card as reported by Stripe.
From people leaving feedback
- The rating they choose (for example, good / okay / bad) and any written or spoken comment they decide to share, plus the date and time.
- That's it. No name, no email, no account, no login. We do not ask who they are, and we do not store anything that identifies them.
- To prevent spam and abuse, our servers briefly read a network (IP) address while a submission is processed. This is used only to rate-limit abuse and is not stored alongside the feedback and not used to identify anyone.
- Optional email signup: a business can invite customers to join its email list. If a customer chooses to enter their email, we store that email for that business. This is always optional and never required to leave feedback.
Technical information
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps basic server logs (such as request times and error information) to keep the service secure and running. We don't use this to build profiles of individuals.
3. Cookies & tracking
We keep this deliberately minimal:
- We use a single essential cookie to keep business owners signed in to their dashboard. It isn't used for advertising or tracking.
- The feedback page sets no identifying cookies. To stop the same device from submitting repeatedly, a small "already shared" marker may be saved on the visitor's own device. It contains no personal information, isn't sent to us, and simply expires on its own.
- We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site trackers.
4. How we use information
- To create and run business accounts and show each business its own feedback.
- To generate plain-English AI summaries of feedback for the business (see below).
- To process subscriptions and payments through Stripe.
- To send important service emails (welcome, trial reminders, receipts, and billing notices).
- To provide support, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.
5. AI summaries
To turn raw feedback into a useful summary, the feedback text is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (the makers of Claude), which generates the summary that appears on the business's dashboard. The text is processed to create that summary; it is not used to identify the person who wrote it. We send only the feedback content needed for the summary.
6. Service providers we rely on
We use a small number of trusted providers, and each receives only what it needs to do its job:
- Stripe, payment processing and subscriptions.
- Anthropic, AI-generated feedback summaries.
- Resend, sending transactional emails (such as welcome and billing notices).
- Railway, secure hosting of the application.
These providers handle data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
7. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share information only:
- With the business a piece of feedback was left for (that's the whole point of the service).
- With the service providers listed above, so they can perform their function.
- If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service.
- As part of a business transfer (for example, a merger or acquisition), in which case we'll let you know.
8. How long we keep information
- Business account information is kept while your account is active.
- Feedback and email-list entries are kept for the business until it deletes them or closes its account.
- When an account is closed, we delete or anonymize the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep limited records (for example, payment records) to meet legal or accounting obligations, and a minimal record of the sign-up email and business name where needed to prevent free-trial abuse.
9. How we protect information
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) across the site, hashed passwords, restricted access, and isolation so one business can never see another business's data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take protecting your information seriously.
10. Your choices and rights
- Businesses can view, edit, and export their data (including their feedback and email list) directly from the dashboard, and can request account deletion by contacting us.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
- Because customer feedback is anonymous, we have no way to connect a specific piece of feedback to an individual, so we generally cannot look up, retrieve, or delete an individual's feedback on request, because nothing ties it to them.
11. Children
Talk2Us is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. Where data is processed
Talk2Us is operated from the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. By using the service, you understand that your information may be processed there.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll provide a more prominent notice. Continuing to use Talk2Us after an update means you accept the revised policy.
